Kaş
Lost Something Valuable in Kaş?
Lycian Stone, Diving Bays, and the Sunken City of Kekova — Recovery Across the Turquoise Coast.
Kaş sits on a small headland on the Turquoise Coast, halfway between Fethiye and Antalya, with the Greek island of Meis (Kastellorizo) close enough to wave at across a narrow strait. The town is tighter and quieter than the resort towns up and down the coast — boutique hotels in Lycian-stone houses, a working harbour, an ancient theatre carved into the slope above town, and a seafront that drops straight into deep, clear blue water. Kaş is also a Mediterranean diving capital and the launch point for Kekova boat trips. Rings are lost here at swim platforms, dive boats, the harbour, and ancient stone alike.
Searching Across Kaş
Kaş is a compact town built on slopes around a small harbour, with the Çukurbağ Peninsula curling out to the west and the Büyük Çakıl–Küçük Çakıl swim coves immediately east. Beyond the town, the road runs east to Üçağız (the launch point for Kekova trips) and the sunken-city zone, west to Kalkan and Patara. Most calls fall in town or on the peninsula, with a regular stream of dive-boat and Kekova boat-trip cases.
We cover the Kaş-Çukurbağ-Üçağız zone from a local base. Town and peninsula response is typically within a few hours. Üçağız and Kekova searches depend on boat coordination and are usually same-day.
We serve all areas of Kaş, including:
- Kaş town and the harbour
- The Lycian ancient theatre and Antiphellos remains
- Büyük Çakıl swim cove
- Küçük Çakıl swim cove
- The Çukurbağ Peninsula villas
- The headland and the Greek-strait viewpoint
- Limanağzı (boat-only swim bay)
- Üçağız (Kekova launch)
- The Kekova sunken-city route
- Kaleköy (Simena) and the castle bay
- Patara direction and the long beach
- The Hidayet and dive-school harbour zones
- And everywhere else around Kaş
Common Search Locations in Kaş
Kaş's losses divide cleanly between town-and-headland, dive-and-boat, and the Kekova boat-trip ground.
Büyük Çakıl & Küçük Çakıl Swim Coves
Büyük Çakıl is Kaş's most popular swim cove — pebble beach, ladder access into deep clear water, beachside café. Küçük Çakıl ("Little Pebble") is a similar smaller cove right on the edge of town. Rings come off during the swim, on the pebble shelf, and at the café table.
Popular recovery spots: Büyük Çakıl ladder zone, central pebble shelf, Küçük Çakıl entry steps, café-side benches
Kaş Harbour & the Old Town
The town's working harbour hosts dive-boats, day-trip gulets, fishing boats, and a few private yachts. The old town wraps around it with stone-house lanes converted to restaurants, jewellery shops, and boutique hotels. Rings come off at harbour-front restaurant terraces, on dive-boat boarding pontoons, and during the wash-down after a dive day.
Common locations: Harbour pontoons, dive-boat boarding zones, harbour-front restaurants, old-town lane terraces
The Antiphellos Theatre & Lycian Stone
The ancient theatre of Antiphellos is carved into the slope above town — small, beautifully preserved, sea views from the upper rows. Lycian rock-cut sarcophagi sit scattered in the streets and on the slopes. Sunset photo ops at the theatre and at the King's Tomb (the famous standalone sarcophagus in town) are recurring loss zones.
Common locations: Theatre seating tiers, King's Tomb base, Lycian sarcophagus surrounds, upper-slope viewpoints
Kekova & the Sunken City
The Kekova boat-trip route runs east of Kaş — Üçağız launch, the sunken city of Kekova Island, the castle bay at Kaleköy (Simena), the swim stops at Akvaryum and other coves. Rings come off during the swim stops, on glass-bottom-boat decks, and at the Kaleköy castle climb.
Common locations: Kekova swim-stop bays, Kaleköy castle path, Akvaryum cove, sunken-city ruin shore
Diving Bay & Liveaboard Recovery
Kaş is one of the Mediterranean's most active dive destinations. Drop-offs, walls, and wrecks within a short boat ride. Rings come off during pre-dive kit-up and post-dive de-kit, when wet hands and shrunken fingers conspire. We work with the dive schools on these.
Common locations: Dive-boat platforms, pre-dive shore briefing zones, dive-school changing rooms, post-dive rinse buckets
Water Recovery
The water off Kaş is famously clear and famously deep — the shore drops sharply, which limits beach-floor sand searches but makes shallow-zone recoveries (down to six metres) a productive use of our pulse-induction gear. Visibility is exceptional almost year-round.

Understanding Kaş's Search Conditions
Deep Drop Coastline
Kaş's coast drops fast — within metres of shore the water reaches depths beyond detection range. That makes pebble-cove edges and harbour shallows the productive zones; deeper losses are unrecoverable by metal detector. We're honest about which losses we can and can't take.
Pebble Cove Surface Behaviour
Both Büyük and Küçük Çakıl have pebble that's larger and rounder than typical Mediterranean shingle. Rings tend to settle at the ladder entry zones and at the café-front rake line. We start there and work outward.
Lycian Stone Joint Lines
The ancient theatre and the sarcophagi are cut from local limestone with very fine joints. Rings sit in joints rather than rolling across the surface. Detection here needs care because the limestone has its own mineral signature.
Boat-Trip Schedule Windows
Kekova and Limanağzı boat-trip captains run fixed schedules. Returning to a swim stop happens between trips, which means we plan around the captain's calendar.
Dive-Day Loss Pattern
The pattern is consistent — rings come off during pre-dive prep when fingers are cold and slim from the boat ride out. Dive-school floors and gear-prep platforms are the highest-density loss zones in town.
Çukurbağ Peninsula Villa Slopes
The peninsula's villas are built into the rocky slope above the strait. Stepped gardens, narrow drainage runs, and rock-edge pool decks define the inland search environment.

FAQs – Kaş
How quickly can you respond in Kaş?
Usually within a few hours to the town, the harbour, the swim coves, and the Çukurbağ Peninsula. Kekova and Üçağız are roughly 30 minutes' drive plus boat-coordination time — usually same-day.
Do you cover all of Kaş and the Kekova region?
Yes. Kaş town, the swim coves, the peninsula, the Antiphellos theatre, and the full Kekova boat-trip route through Üçağız, Kaleköy (Simena), and the sunken-city anchorages.
I lost my ring on a Kekova boat trip. Can you find it?
Often yes. The boat captains running the Kekova route are cooperative — give us the boat name, the captain's contact, and where on the trip you think the loss happened, and we'll plan a return run with the captain.
I lost my ring while diving in Kaş. Can you find it underwater?
Depends on depth. Pulse-induction recovery works to about six metres in our normal kit. Beyond that — and Kaş's drop-offs go far beyond — we coordinate with your dive school for a deep-recovery dive if the location is feasible. Tell us the dive site and depth.
What are the most common places people lose rings in Kaş?
By volume: dive-boat boarding zones, Büyük Çakıl ladder shallows, harbour-front restaurant terraces, the King's Tomb sunset photo zone, and the Kekova swim stops at Akvaryum.
How much does your service cost?
Pricing reflects the location, the conditions, and the complexity of the recovery. We'll walk you through it on the call before we travel — no commitment until you've heard the structure. Card-only payment (Visa, Mastercard).
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment is by Visa or Mastercard only.
I lost my ring at Büyük Çakıl swim cove. Can you search the pebble?
Yes. Büyük Çakıl is a regular search location for us. Rings tend to settle near the ladder-entry pebble zone or just below the rake line at the café front. Worth calling early — pebble doesn't bury rings deep but they can move with foot traffic.
I lost my ring at the Antiphellos theatre. Can you search an ancient site?
Yes, with respectful protocol. Surface searches on theatre seating and the surrounding paths are generally permitted. Tell us roughly which row or area you were on and we'll plan accordingly.
I'm staying at Çukurbağ Peninsula and lost my ring at the villa pool. Can you help?
Yes. Peninsula villa work is a regular part of our caseload. Pool decks, stepped gardens, and rock-edge terraces are the standard environments — we handle them all.
